This was stated by the FDRE House of Peoples’ Representatives State Owned Enterprises Affairs Standing Committee during a field inspection and discussion conducted on January 12, 2025, at the Corporation’s head office, as well as at the Adama branch’s agricultural input and incense warehouses.

During the discussion, the Standing Committee noted that the Corporation, as a crucial institution for ensuring agricultural transformation and prosperity, has been given strong attention by the government.

The Committee emphasized that the Corporation’s management and employees must work with strong commitment to successfully implement the national mandate entrusted to it.

The Chairperson of the Standing Committee, Ato Melese Mena, stated that the Corporation’s new management has quickly understood the overall condition of the institution and is making commendable efforts to ensure that it remains competitive, productive and profitable in the market.

He also noted that the Standing Committee will provide the necessary support in this regard.

Furthermore, the Chairperson pointed out that the Corporation needs to establish a research based and technology supported procurement and sales system.

He added that fulfilling the mission of modernizing the sector by supplying agricultural inputs to users on time and with assured quality is essential.

On the other hand, he strongly emphasized the importance of preventing corruption and malpractice and ensuring good governance.

The Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Committee, Sileshi Kore (Dr. Engineer), for his part, praised the efforts of the Corporation’s new management in bringing positive change to the institution.
