Addis Ababa, December 25, 2025 (EABC): The Ethiopian Agricultural Businesses Corporation (EABC) and the Ethiopian Agricultural Transformation Institute (ATI) held discussions on areas of collaboration aimed at modernizing Ethiopia’s agricultural sector.
The discussion took place on December 25, 2025, at the Office of the Chief Executive Officer of EABC.
During the discussion, the CEO of EABC, Mrs. Yeshiemebet Negash, highlighted the Corporation’s strong capacity and extensive experience in supplying agricultural inputs.
She noted that EABC is well positioned to provide improved seeds, fertilizers, agro-chemicals, agricultural machinery and modern agricultural technologies to farmers and other users in sufficient quantity and quality.
She further explained that the Corporation can supply required agricultural inputs and farm machinery to institutions and farmers through Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and contractual arrangements.
Speaking at the meeting, the Director General of ATI and Board Member of EABC, Mandefro Nigussie (PhD), stated that his institution, which shares a common objective of transforming the country’s agriculture, will work closely with EABC to strengthen the sector.
Mandefro also noted that ATI supports farmers by providing tractors as part of its mechanization efforts.
In line with government-to-government procurement procedures, ATI is collaborating with EABC to purchase tractors and distribute them to farmers.
Meanwhile, the Deputy CEO, Agricultural Machinery and Products Supply Main Sector of EABC, Tekeste Kifle (PhD), announced that ATI recently purchased six tractors from the Corporation and distributed them to the Tigray and Southern Ethiopia regions.
He added that ATI has also expressed interest in procuring additional tractors in the near future.
Tekeste further indicated that efforts are underway to promote EABC’s products and services more widely to the Ministry of Agriculture and other relevant institutions.
Prior to the discussion, Mandefro Nigussie (PhD) and Mr. Girma Bekele, Head of the Ministry of Agriculture Office, visited the agricultural machinery and spare parts available in the Corporation’s warehouses.
